But he came into the spotlight when he beat Miami Open champion, Carlos Alcaraz, in the Monte Carlo Masters and moved on till he reached the round of 16. The Barcelona open did not quite work out for him as he crashed out in the first round. But the Estoril Open is proving to be fruitful for him as the American has reached the quarter-finals by beating Benjamin Bonzi and will now face World no. 10 Felix Auger Aliassime.
The American played with a very strong serve and defended well from the baseline. But his shots across the court to the other side were also clean and simple which gave him more breakpoints. It was a well-played match and an excellent showcase of Korda and his skills, which makes opponents wary of him. The American is currently ranked 37 in the world and is the son of legendary tennis player Petr Korda, who won the 1998 Australian Open.
