Serena Williams is set to give people an extravagant show as the US Open commences. With her, every match at the championship could potentially be her last, fans are rushing in to see the former World No.1 in action. Serena Williams took the tennis world by surprise when she announced her retirement this month in a personal essay with Vogue. Williams is currently eyeing a record 7th title at her home tournament.

One of the many reasons for her retirement is family. After defining women’s tennis for more than a decade, Serena Williams‘ will take time for her family, most importantly, for her daughter, Olympia. In her personal essay for Vogue, she noted, “I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair,” Williams wrote. “If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family.”

Ahead of Williams‘ first-round match, Olympia left the fans speechless after she recreated one of the most iconic Serena Williams looks. She donned the amazing braids which were worn by Williams in 1999 when she won her first ever US Open title. Williams got all the support from her daughter at the grand slam, who came there with a little camera and of course, the iconic white braids. She’s certainly her mother’s No. 1 fan.

On Olympia‘s likeness for tennis, Williams has said before, “We do everything together. We go on dates and it’s so cool because she likes everything I do except for tennis. She’s my little buddy, She’s really fun. I see a lot of my personality in her and it’s just a great time to have her around now to see what I do on a daily.” Nevertheless, the daughter is always there in the stands to support her mother.

The 23-time grand slam champion is looking to win the title to match Margaret Court‘s record of 24 grand slam titles.
