Emma Raducanu, Iga Swiatek, and Naomi Osaka are just some of the names that currently dominate the women’s circuit of tennis, with fans all over the world, Raducanu took the world by a storm last year as she won the 2021 US Open after beating Leylah Fernandez in the finals of the tournament.

Naomi Osaka and Iga Swiatek star in their own rights, Osaka has 4 Grand Slam titles to their and experienced a meteoric rise to the top before her battle with injuries, Iga Swiatek, just being 21 is ranked world number 1 and has 2 Grand Slam titles to her name. It is only normal that these players have a huge fan following around the world.

Iga Swiatek, Naomi Osaka, and many other WTA stars read positivity postcards from fans

Launched by Tennis Canada, ‘Mental Timeout’ is a project that helps players relax in their off-time. An interesting aspect of a mental timeout is ‘positivity postcards’ that are hand-written messages from fans all around the world for their favorite stars. In a video shared by the WTA, Emma Raducanu, Naomi Osaka, Iga Swiatek, Bianca Andreescu, Venus Williams, and many other WTA stars were seen reading these messages from fans.

One of the messages received by Emma Raducanu said, “Hi Emma. You’re my favorite tennis player. I love the way you play and we have something in common. We’re both half-Chinese and half-Romanian. Hope to play you someday,” Raducanu could not control her amusement and replied, “Wow! I honestly don’t think I know anyone who is half-Chinese and half-Romanian. I would love to see you and meet you because I’m sure you feel like your parents are just as tough as mine.”

Naomi Osaka was overwhelmed when a fan expressed their love, she said, “This is like me being real but whenever people tell me that I’m their favorite player, it’s like the most flattering thing ever because I always think there are so many other players and it’s like, ‘Wow, you chose me out of all the other players, that’s crazy.” 

Simona Halep, Maria Sakkari, Venus Williams, and Bianca Andreescu were some of the other players that made an appearance in the video as they read letters from their fans.
