Serbian World No.2 Novak Djokovic showed no mercy as he dismantled his daughter’s favorite player Andrey Rublev in Wimbledon Quarter-finals. In a usual routine for Djokovic, Rublev was able to get only one set off the Serbian star. The final score read as 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-3. Djokovic had earlier mentioned that his daughter’s favorite player is Rublev.

The Serbian said before the match against Rublev, ” She is (Andrey Rublev fan). Yes. I can’t wait to go back to the house to talk to her about it. she normally doesn’t follow tennis. But she likes him. She likes him for his headband. And for his energy and intensity. That’s the number one choice for my daughter. Yes. Hopefully, daddy comes in front tomorrow.

The Serbian star looks untouchable now on Grass courts. With a Novak style of keeping the momentum high in crucial moments of the matches, the Serbian has moved to his 56th Grand Slam semi-final now. This is a world record equaling the Swiss Maestro Roger Federer‘s number.

By the looks of it, it will be too much to ask for the Italian young star Jannik Sinner who has moved to his first-ever Wimbledon Semi-final. He is also the youngest male player to reach the Wimbledon semis since 2003 now. But this record will soon be broken by either Carlos Alcaraz or Holger Rune tomorrow since both the 20-year-olds are battling against each other in the last eight on the other side of the draw.

In the last year’s Wimbledon quarter-finals, Jannik Sinner was able to take a 2-0 lead against the Serbian but as usual, Djokovic turned the match around and won it in 5 sets. The Italian will be looking to play some extra balls this year to have any chances against one of the greatest players of all time.
