24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic was presented with the year-end No.1 trophy at Turin. Following his round-robin win against Holger Rune, he was officially crowned the ATP year-end World No.1 player. This is his record-extending 8th trophy for the same.

Following his win against Holger Rune in the round-robin match of the Nitto ATP Finals, Novak Djokovic successfully clinched his eight-year-end No. 1 trophy. This is quite the record for the Serb, as he bested himself with his game.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion had returned from a rank of World No. 5 in the 2022 season. Following COVID-19 vaccination bans, he was not able to participate in two of the four Grand Slams last year. While he had won the 2022 Wimbledon championships, he had a quarter-final exit at the French Open. This led to him finishing the year ranked No. 5, his lowest finish since 2017.

However, he was back to form in the 2023 season. Following the lifting of COVID restrictions, he was let back into all of the Grand Slams. He won three out of four Grand Slams, with a final appearance at Wimbledon, where he was the defending champion.

He lost to Carlos Alcaraz, who was the 2022 year-end No. 1 player and the top-ranked player during Wimbledon. However, the tables turned at the US Open, where Djokovic snatched back his No. 1 position from the young Spaniard.

The 36-year-old has been proving over and over again that he is not ready to stop. 24 Grand Slam titles and six ATP Finals titles later, the Serb is still playing his best tennis. With the Big 3 at the end of their run, Djokovic is the only one remaining to carry on their legacy. With his opponents nearly 10 years younger than him, he is still winning titles. This speaks to the longevity and stability of his tennis career.
