Novak Djokovic is into round three of the 2023 French Open. The 22-time GrandSlam champion aims to become a record 23 times Grand Slam Champion this Roland-Garros. Novak Djokovic defeated Marton Fucsovics in the second round.
The conditions at the Philippe-Chatrier during the match were extremely windy. The first set, which by itself lasted one hour and 27 minutes, was a tough one for Novak. But after that, he cruised past his opponent. “First set was very tough and I’m sure the crowd enjoyed it. The second and third were terrific. I was very happy with my game.”, he said.
As the first set was not going according to plan, Djokovic was a bit frustrated. The Serb could be seen shouting at his coach Goran Ivanišević. Djokovic turned to his box and yelled out, “Get up, get up, I can’t hear you, you f**k!” to Ivanišević and the rest of the coaching staff.
Djokovic showed resilience and battled past the windy conditions. The scoreline in the end was 7-6(2), 6-0, 6-3. He adjusted according to the conditions to get the better of Marton Fucsovics, who was playing quite well. Djokovic got quite temperamental during the first set, as he could be seen shouting his lungs out at his box.
