Despite it being a Roland Garros Final, it looked like another normal outing for World No.1 Iga Swiatek as she thrashed American teenager Coco Gauff in the Final to win her second grand slam title. She defeated Gauff in straight sets 6-1,6-3 and extended her winning streak to 35 matches.

Swiatek was the better player right from the very start and broke Gauff in the very first game. She was dominant from the baseline and took charge of the majority of the points. Gauff’s nervousness to start things helped her and she capitalized it well.

Swiatek soon charged to a double break’s lead and took the first set 6-1. She carried the momentum into the second set but Gauff was brilliant to take the first break. But Swiatek showed her big match temperament and stayed calm in the tough situation. She quickly broke back to level things at 2-2 and since then, there was no looking back. The Pole was quick to break Gauff again and then capitalized it to win the set 6-3 and become a 2-time Roland Garros champion.
