Tennis legend Rafael Nadal embraced parenthood for the first time when he announced the birth of his baby boy on the 8th of October. Though there is no official confirmation regarding the name of the newborn, it is speculated that he is also named Rafael. A few days after his loss at the 2022 Paris Masters, he was spotted on the streets of Mallorca with his wife and son.

The Spanish legend took to social media to express his gratitude and thanked everyone for the wholesome messages. He even stated that the whole family is elated with the news while the mother and the baby are doing fine. He then withdrew from the Laver Cup, stating personal reasons. As per some speculations, the reason was to be with his wife in the last days before the delivery, since she had been dealing with a complicated pregnancy.

At the time of writing, due to privacy concerns, the couple hasn’t released any photographs of their baby boy. However, according to a Spanish magazine named Semana, Nadal was spotted cradling his baby boy in his arms, as he roamed around the streets of Mallorca along with his wife Maria Francisca Perello. This was the first time the Mallorcan gave a glimpse of his son. However, the media agency has blurred the image of the 1-month-old baby.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion was spotted enjoying some time with his son before he makes his way for the Year-end Championship in Turin. Post his exit in Bercy, the tennis sensation admitted that leaving his 1-month-old son for his profession is one of the hardest things he has to go through. With that being said, the 36-year-old Mallorcan has a few months in hand to spend some quality time with his family, especially his newly born baby boy, before the start of the next year when he will defend his title in Australia.

The record 14-time French Open champion had a good start to the season until his injury at Wimbledon, which put a stop to his performances along with ending his quest for a calendar Grand Slam. His winning streak at the Grand Slam tournaments ended after his fourth-round loss at the US Open.

He next played at the 2022 Paris Masters but again faced an early-round exit. Despite the second-round elimination, Rafael Nadal looks forward to the Year-end Championship despite not having performed well on the Tour in the last two months. He has already reached early Turin and has been practicing to get back in form for the year-end championship.
