Former World No. 1 Serena Williams recently paid a visit to the famous New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) as the tennis legend is in the city to compete in what will be the final US Open appearance for her as she will bid goodbye to the sport at the end of the Grand Slam. Serena is a 6-time champion at the US Open and she is going for her 7th title this year.
Williams is also eyeing her 24th career title which will tie her with Australian legend Margaret Court‘s record of 24 majors although the Australian won the titles combined in the Amateur Era and the Open Era whereas all 23 of Serena’s titles have come in the Open Era making the American a constant contender in the GOAT debate.

With a couple of days still left for the 2022 US Open to commence as the final major of the season begins on 29th August, Serena took time off her schedule to visit the NYSE on behalf of her company ‘Serena Ventures’ and rang the honorary bell to start the day’s trading on Friday, 26th August, in what was the final trading day of the week.
Serena made the visit in a wine-coloured one-piece and was given a short tour of the institution before being taken to the platform to ring the bell and start the day’s business. “What an incredible experience ringing the bell at @nyse with @ali_jo_rap_stillman on behalf of @serena.ventures !! Thank you, New York! I love you!!” wrote Serena as she uploaded a short video of her visit to NYSE and shared it on her handle at Instagram.
Serena is scheduled to play on Day 1 of the tournament where she will take on Danka Kovinic in the first round to start her 17th and final campaign in New York. Currently ranked 608th in the world, Serena enters the main-draw through the protected ranking quota and will surely have the backing of the crowd in her final appearance.
