In just the second game of the last-four match on Court Philippe-Chatrier, Gauff contacted the umpire, Marijana Veljovic, to convey her displeasure with the loud noises with smashes coming from the other side of the net. After a particularly noise filled point in the second game, the 18-year-old notified Veljovic about the issue at deuce, with Trevisan slamming a shot into the net and letting out a yell of rage in the process.

Coco Gauff voiced her displeasure after the second game of the first set. “Too loud or no? I normally don’t care but when I’m hitting it, she is still screaming, “ she said. To which the umpire replied, “I am gonna talk to her when I have the chance.”

Veljovic had a busy first set, as several line calls were disputed and she had to make some difficult judgments under pressure. However, she confronted the Italian and to which Veljovic said she was going to have a word, but Trevisan saw no issue. “I think I’m alright. I don’t need to change anything.”
