Novak Djokovic‘s entry into the 2022 Paris Masters has been a topic of great debate. Apart from getting the Serb in the Top-8 for the ATP Finals race, the clutch performance of the Serb was once again on display. World No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas was the last one to bite the dust as Djokovic won the deciding set tiebreaker.

Djokovic is the defending champion in Paris this year. With the big points drop this year from his absence in Melbourne and point deduction in Wimbledon, the most successful Masters champion can’t really afford to lose more points. However, it’s safe to say, Djokovic is on the right track to keep the points from Bercy.

However, dubious footage that has gone viral is tainting the champion’s legacy once again. The video shows Djokovic‘s box making a drink for the Serb not in front of everyone but in what looks like an attempt to hide it from the cameras. The prepared drink was then given to the Serb waiting on his bench.

While it is common knowledge that all drinks and items that a player and his teams carry on the court are thoroughly checked by the tournament officials. Despite this, the video went viral and gave Djokovic‘s haters another opportunity to mock the player.

Even if one assumes the player was indeed doping, the team would surely take the precautions of not doing it in front of the camera where they can be caught easily. While the arguments can go on for both sides, some sections of fans were not impressed with the Serb nevertheless.

So far, neither Djokovic, his team, nor the tournament officials have made any comments about the incident. Chances however remain low of any comment as well given items are thoroughly checked and this looks like just another attempt at tainting the legend’s legacy.

With the 7th title in Bercy on line for Djokovic, 19-year-old Holger Rune stands in the way as he reaches his first Masters-1000 finals following his win over Felix-Auger Aliassime. A win for Rune will take him in the Top-10 while Djokovic will pick his third consecutive title on the Tour.
