WATCH: ‘We miss you’ Fans welcome Daniil Medvedev who returns to practise post surgery

Daniil Medvedev
The Russian professional tennis player Daniil Medvedev was seen practising on the court after undergoing a small hernia procedure. the Russian posted his practice session on his official Twitter handle. The 26-year-old, World No. 2 missed the chance to return to the top of the world ranking when lost to Hubert Hurkacz in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Miami Masters.
Daniil Medvedev had reached the 2022 Australian Open finals in which he lost to Rafael Nadal losing no ranking points as he was the runner-up last year as well. He was the world number 1 for three weeks until Novak Djokovic regained his spot as the world number 1.
“For the last months, I have been playing with a small hernia. Together with my team, I have decided to have a small procedure done to fix the problem. I will likely be out for the next one to two months and will work hard to be back on the court soon. Thanks for all the support,” Medvedev had said on social media announcing his absence from the Golden Swing for the majority of the events.
Twitteratis welcome Daniil Medvedev back on court

Recently Daniil was seen practising on the court. Daniil can return and play the 2022 Rome Masters or the 2022 French Open. Even if Medvedev has started practising we will not see him in the 2022 Madrid Masters as he will require some more time to completely recover. Nevertheless, Twitteratis were happy to see the Russian return to practice.
There are rumors that the French Open and Rome Masters are going to follow the footsteps of Wimbledon and ban the Russians and Belarusian players from competing in the competition. The Roland Garros is in May and the Wimbledon is in June, and if both ban the Russian player then his ATP ranking will get affected. However, ATP and WTA are disagreeing with this and hence we can see a freeze in the ATP and WTA rankings if the French Open and Wimbledon ban the Russian and Belarusian players from participating.
