The 2023 Canadian Open, also known as the Rogers Cup or the Toronto & Montreal Open, is set to begin on Monday with players all across the world trying out to make a mark. This Masters 1000 tournament is one of the most coveted competitions in the world with every single player dreaming of having the title under their gasp at least once in their career.
The total prize money for this year’s ATP Canadian Open is an astounding sum of $6,600,000, thereby making it an 11.36% increase over last year’s edition. The men’s winner in Montreal this year will have a handsome prize money of about $1,019,335 which is also a considerable increase compared to what last year’s champion, Pablo Carreno Busta received. This marks an 11.37% increase and compared to last year’s first-round losers, this year the players will receive an 11.36% pay rise which ranges to about $26,380.
The total prize money for this year’s WTA Canadian Open is variably low compared to that of men’s i.e. $2,788,468, thereby making it a 3.38% increase over last year’s edition. The women’s singles winner in Toronto this year will be awarded with a prize money of about $454,500 which is also a considerable increase compared to what last year’s champion, Simona Halep received. This marks a 3.37% increase and compared to last year’s runners-up, this year the second prize will be $267,690 which has also increased considerably by 3.32%.
