When and Where will the US Open 2022 draw ceremony take place?

The last grand slam of the year is inching closer with the preparations underway. US Open 2022 will start from August 29 and will run till September 11. The tournament will take place at the beautiful Flushing Meadow in New York. Huge announcements have been made before the start of the big tournament. The USTA announced a big increase in the prize money amounting to $60 million in total players’ compensations.
Another similary big announcement came from the 6-time US Open champion and former World No.1, Serena Williams. She is most likely to retire after the conclusion of her last home tournament. On the other hand, current World No 6, Novak Djokovic‘s chances of playing in the US Open are looking to be slim with the announcement of the draws just around the corner.

US Open 2022 Draw Ceremony – date, venue, time and wild cards

The US Open will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. As for the draw ceremony, it will take place on Thursday, August 25 at Flushing Meadows, New York. The time for the ceremony is yet to be declared but it usually takes place around 12 noon (9:30 IST).
This year, current World No.1, Daniil Medvedev will be looking to defend the men’s singles title after his striking win against Djokovic in the finals last year. In the women’s singles category, young star Emma Raducanu will be hoping to defend the title after she won against Leylah Fernandez last year without dropping a set in the entire tournament.
Out of the 128 players who compete in the main draw, 104 players are selected according to the top rankings. 16 of those remaining 24 players are decided through the qualifier round. Finally, the remaining 8 players are wildcards. A wild card maybe a young player with potential or a player coming back after injury.
