The Gentleman’s Singles final of the 2023 Wimbledon Championships is all set to begin. However, for all the fans of the event, there is an inspiring boy in the proximity of the All-England Club.
The all-important coin toss is going to be done by this special guest and his name is Mu’awwiz Anwar. He is just eight years old but his story is extremely inspiring and what he is trying to do for humanity is more than unbelievable.
Mu’awwiz represents WaterAid, a charity that is also a partner of the Championships. The charity is on a mission to provide everyone with clean and healthy water. It’s concerned with hygiene for all. This charity was nominated by the chairman Ian Hewitt. Wimbledon has raised approximately 1.5 million pounds so far for the much-needed charity.
Mu’awwiz himself has raised 10000 pounds and that’s a very impressive number for an 8-year-old. During Ramadan last year, Mu’awwiz cycled three miles daily for 30 days and this year completed half an Ironman triathlon to raise funds. The Prince and Princess of Wales were also seen having a chat with the young star and encouraging him big time before the finale.
His mother Saira said, “Mu’awwiz chose WaterAid because he couldn’t actually believe that there were so many people around the world who don’t have access to clean water.” This is extremely inspirational for all beings of the world. Mu’awwiz will perform the coin toss in front of almost a billion people who will be eagerly watching the finals. On this, the eight-year-old said, “I can’t wait to do the coin toss, and actually seeing the players, it will be amazing.”

Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz ready for ultimate showdown
It will be a dream final at the Championships as the top two seeds will take on each other for the elusive trophy. Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic will be scripting strategies that will help them overpower each other for the trophy. The pair last met at the French Open semi-finals where the Serb made the Spaniard limp off the court in four sets.
However, a determined Alcaraz has fought back strong and has won 6 rounds on his least preferred surface to meet Djokovic in the final. It won’t be easy as the Serb has lost only one final in the eight that he has contested. Alcaraz is coming off defeating big names such as Holger Rune and Daniil Medvedev in the quarters and semis to meet the biggest of them all in the final. Can he match the Serb’s physicality and win the trophy? We will have to wait and see.
