World No. 40 Holger Rune is slowly turning heads towards himself with fantastic performances on the Tour. Many youngsters have emerged on the Tour in the past couple of seasons and Rune is one of them.
The 19-year old already the top-ranked player from Denmark with the no singles player being ranked inside the Top-300 other than the teenager. Rune is a junior Grand Slam champion winning the 2019 French Open Junior singles title and was also ranked as the World No. 1 junior by the ITF having won 4 titles from 7 finals in ITF events while claiming 5 titles in 6 ATP Challenger finals.
The Danish youngster captured his first ATP Tour title at the 2022 Munich Open played on the clay courts where on his way to the title, he defeated top-seed and then World No. 3 Alexander Zverev in the second round and won the title without dropping a single set. Rune’s title in Munich made him the third-youngest Tour level champion and just the second man in the Open Era after Guillermo Perez-Roldan who coincidentally won his maiden title also in Munich at the age of 17.
Roldan then made a successful title defence the very next year and in 1988 to occupy the first two spots in the list of youngest Tour level champions. Rune made his French Open debut in the 2022 edition and reached the fourth round as well.

He is a candid person and currently seems fully focussed on making a name for himself in the world of tennis where he is quickly rising in ranks.
