Meet Agata, Iga Swiatek’s older sister
Iga Swiatek has a sister, and it’s common knowledge. She was there with her to support Iga during her French Open victory. Her sister, Agata Swiatek, is a dentistry student at the Medical University of Lublin. Iga’s father, Tomasz, tried to get both of her daughters into sports. He started by introducing Agata to tennis while Iga was meant to be a swimmer.
Agata didn’t even fully grow into the junior circuit, and after briefly competing in the ITF Junior Circuit in 2013 when she was 15, she left tennis due to injuries. That’s when Iga stepped in. She took the sport that her sister didn’t find her calling in, and she excelled in it. Iga started because she wanted to beat her sister on the court but stayed on to beat the best players in the world.
Iga Swiatek will be eyeing to return at the Roland-Garros with the same form she has displayed these past few months.
