The wait is over now for the Australian Open 2023 men’s final. Serbian icon Novak Djokovic and the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas are set to lock horns at Rod Laver Arena in front of a cheering crowd. Under the open roof with the flags of both of their countries, Djokovic and Tsitsipas just a few hours away to create history.
All eyes are on Novak Djokovic who will level the record with Rafal Nadal in the Grand Slam tally if he holds his nerves and just continues doing what he has done in the fortnight. Tsitspas on the other hand with taste his first Grand Slam victory if he overcomes a mountain-sized hurdle in the form of Djokovic.
Given the gravity of the situation, other than the competitors, the Chair Umpire will be under a lot of pressure too. This is not going to be an easy job officiating the final match with a lot at stake.

Louise Engzell will be officiating the men’s final at the Australian Open 2023
Louise Azemar Engzell is a Swedish official who received her gold badge in 2007. She has a lot of experience under her belt. Engzell has officiated some of the big matches of the tour previously. This includes the 2011 and 2020 French Open women’s singles final, the 2012 and 2022 US Open women’s singles final, the 2019 Australian Open women’s singles final, the 2020 Australian Open men’s doubles Final, and the 2020 US Open men’s singles final.
Given her wide experience in big matches, she is the right person for the job.
