“Why should a country make an exception for a tennis player?” Novak Djokovic faces backlash from fans after he expresses his will to play the US Open despite being unvaccinated

Novak Djokovic
Today, Novak Djokovic posted a heartfelt thank you message to his Instagram followers for their unwavering support as he competes for a spot in the US Open in 2022. The Serbian said he would always be appreciative of the love and support he has received from devoted followers who wished to see him perform in Flushing Meadows next month.
The 21-time Grand Slam winner is currently prohibited from entering the United States owing to current regulations, which allow only fully immunized visitors. The World No. 7 will be unable to compete in the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati during the third week of August in addition to the New York Major.
It should be noted that Djokovic’s name is now listed on the list of competitors for the US Open. The organizers of the competition made it clear that they would follow government regulations, thus they would not request a special medical exemption for the former World No. 1 as they did for the Australian Open.
