Alison Van Uytvanck‘s had a decent year so far, but has had more success outside of the WTA tour. She made it to the second round of the Australian Open and the French Open. She started off her grass season by winning the Surbiton Trophy and she also competed at the Libema Open, where she lost in the quarterfinals to top seed Aryna Sabalenka in three sets. She then competed in the Gaiba Tournamnet and won the title over Sara Errani. Her best result at Wimbledon so far has been a fourth-round showing in 2018.

On the other hand, Emma Raducanu has had a hard year so far, and needs to bounce back. It has been mainly due to her injuries and the physical issues. At the Australian Open, she was unable to play at her best in the second-round loss due to blisters on her hand. After that she had early exits from Indian Wells and Miami. After that Raducanu moved into the clay season and reached her first quarterfinal on the red dirt at the Stuttgart Open. After a third-round exit from Madrid, she had to retire during her first-round contest in Rome. At the French Open, she lost to Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the second round. Raducanu kicked off her grass season in Nottingham. Up against Viktorija Golubic in the first round, she retired midway through the opening set due to an injury. Last year, the Brit made it to the fourth round of Wimbledon, but retired during the second set due to breathing difficulties. She’ll be aiming for a better result this year, provided her body holds up.
