The former World No. 1 Andy Murray has won 16 out of 25 matches this season and has reached the finals on two occasions. The first final was during the Sydney International, where he beat Viktor Durasovic, Nikoloz Basilashvili, David Goffin and Reilly Opelka to reach the final where he lost to Aslan Karatsev in two sets for the title decider. Murray’s second final appearance came at the BOSS Open in Stuttgart where he pulled off victories against Christopher O’Connell, Alexander Bublik and also the top-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter final. He then went onto beat Nick Kyrgios and set up a title deciding match against Matteo Berrettini, but at the end lost to him on 4-6, 7-5, 3-6.

On the other hand, James Duckworth has not been in great touch lately and is yet to win any of the main draw matches on the ATP Tour this season. He came close to winning against Adrian Mannarino in the first round of the Australian Open but ended on the losing side after five long sets. He also battled Francisco Cerundolo to three sets at the Lyon Open. His luck hasn’t been any better in the grass as well losing in the opening round of the Libema Open and failing to qualify for the main draw of the Queen’s Club Championships. He made it to the main draw of the Rothesay International but at the end lost to Lorenzo Sonego even after winning the first set.

He is one of the best players in the world and has already won the famous trophy in 2013 and has proven himself on grass before, he is more or less an all-court player.
