World No. 3 Ons Jabeur has been on scintillating form for the past couple of months and after winning the title in Madrid and Berlin and finishing as the runners-up in Rome and Charleston, she is on a hunt for her first major Grand Slam title. She has shown great character and has been staggering form in the first two matches at Wimbledon. She beat Mirjam Bjorklund in the first-round tie and also went past Katarzyna Kawa in the second-round tie with quite an ease. In her third-round match against Diane Parry, she just never let the match slip away even for a minute and ended the match in straight sets resulting in an easy win then she faced Elise Martens and beat her quite comfortably as expected but had to go through a tie-breaker in the first round and ended the match with a 6-7(9-11), 4-6 win and booked her place in the quarter-finals.

On the other hand, Marie Bouzkova has had a good year so far as well winning 18 out of 27 matches this season having made it to the final in Guadalajara and also reached the last 16 of the Madrid Open. She shocked the tennis in her first-round tie against Danielle Collins by beating her comfortably. She then defeated Ann Li in the second round tie and Alison Riske in the third round tie to reach the last 16 of the tournament. Bouzkova faced Caroline Garcia and overcame the challenge by beating her well and clear by 7-5, 6-2 over to reach the quarterfinals of a grand slam for the first time in her career.
