World No. 16 Simona Halep faced Karolina Muchova in the first round, who was in brilliant form and Muchova took an early lead to go 3-1 up in the first set. Muchova was unable to hold onto the lead and in the end, Halep outplayed her time and time again winning the match comfortably in the end. Then she faced Magdalena Frech and it was an easy win for her then she went on to face Kirsten Flipkens and Flipkens was no match for the two-time Grand Slam winner and Halep comfortably beat her. In the last round she faced World No. 4 Badosa and she completely dominated her winning the match 1-6, 2-6, and progressed into the quarter-finals.
On the other hand, Amanda Anisimova has been really impressive making her debut at Wimbledon. She defeated Yue Yuan in the first-round tie and Lauren Davis in the second-round tie to reach the third round. She shocked the tennis in her third-round tie against Coco Gauff beating her after falling behind in the first set. Amanda faced Harmony Tan who was having a fairy tale run having to beat Serena Williams in the first round but eventually her run came to an end in the hands of Amanda who beat her comfortably and progressed to the quarter-finals with a 6-2, 6-3 win.
