The dream final is here. As the Spanish World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz will battle against the Serbian World No.2 Novak Djokovic for the Wimbledon title, it will be a battle of generations and a clear-cut answer to a lot of questions about the future of tennis. Alcaraz will have to battle past a lot of demons as well before the battle of generations.
The mental pressure that led to cramps and the eventual loss against the same Djokovic in the Roland Garros semi-final less than a month ago will be one Alcaraz will try to forget about before this battle on the green turf. The pair is now tied on head to head at 1-1 but Djokovic’s victory in the French Open semi-finals will be enough to make him the firm favorite here.
Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic: When and where to watch live
The Serbian World No.2 Novak Djokovic defeated the Italian Star Jannik Sinner in straight sets to get the ticket for the Wimbledon final. He will play his 35th Grand Slam final, the most by any player in the open era. If he can clinch the 24th Grand Slam title, this can also make him at par with Margaret Court, who holds the record now. He is already the player with the most Grand Slam titles on the men’s side, one more than his biggest rival, Rafael Nadal.
The Spanish World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz defeated the Russian World No.3 Daniil Medvedev in straight sets to reach the final here. It will be interesting to see how much he has learned from the painful loss in the French Open semi-final against Djokovic where the Spanish youngster was the favorite unlike here. Alcaraz will also have to beat the pressure of losing the World No.1 ranking if he loses the match.
