Serbia’s World No. 2 Novak Djokovic will be facing Russian, Andrey Rublev, in the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon today. Djokovic would be hoping for a deep run in the tournament. On the other hand, Rublev would be hoping to put on a show against the 23-time Grand Slam champion. Djokovic defeated the 17th seed Hubert Hurkacz in a tricky 4-set encounter. The score line of the match was 7-6, 7-6, 5-7, 6-4. The Serbian had earlier beaten his old rival and 3-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka before this match in straight sets with the score line 6-3, 6-1, 7-6. Djokovic will be aiming for a record-equaling 8th Wimbledon and would fancy his chances against the world number 7.

Andrey Rublev, on the other hand, beat Alexander Bublik in a 5-set thriller to secure his place in the quarter-finals. The 2023 Monte Carlo Masters champion won the encounter with the score line of 7-5, 6-3, 6-7, 6-7, 6-4. Rublev defeated the likes of David Goffin and fellow countryman, Aslan Karatsev, in his journey so far at SW19. The Russian has reached the quarter-finals of Wimbledon for the first time. He would be hoping to put on a show against the World No. 2.
