Daniil Medvedev has finally found his footing on grass courts after a challenging couple of seasons on the surface. The Russian came back from a set behind to defeat Marton Fucsovics in the third round. The third seed was tentative to start the fixture, but eventually stamped his authority as the match progressed. He defeated Arthur Fery and Adrian Mannarino in the opening two rounds in straight sets. Overall, the 2021 US Open champion looks quite positive of his game over the past week.

Jiri Lehecka has been one of the standout names of the first week. The Czech tennis player got the better of Tommy Paul in the third round in a grueling five-set encounter. After winning the first two sets, Jiri Lehecka lost the next two sets in the tiebreaker. However, he outplayed the American in the fifth and final set to progress into the fourth round. He defeated Francisco Cerundolo and Sebastian Ofner in the first two rounds in straight sets.

Medvedev enters the match as the favorite, given his superior experience on playing on the big stages. Apart from his first-set debacle against Marton Fucsovics, the third seed has looked pretty comfortable so far. However, the pressure will be on the Russian to deliver against the unseeded Czech, who will come out all guns blazing. Lehecka served pretty well in his third-round victory, serving as many as 19 aces. He will have to be clinical in his service games if he is to have a chance against the third seed.
