Nick Kyrgios, the 27-year-old Australian has enjoyed a successful 2022, the Australian professional managed to reach the finals of this year’s Wimbledon where he lost one of the greatest players of all time in Novak Djokovic. Kyrgios has been a different player ever since that final and he has ascended his level since then.

Nick Kyrgios is super popular for being one of the most entertaining players in the world, the Australian always manages to capture every headline through his antics on and off the court that includes arguing with the umpires, getting in fights with the crowd and so much more.

Kyrgios has been in excellent form in this US Open, he has managed to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament. He recently defeated world number 1, Daniil Medvedev as he made his way into the quarter-finals. Kyrgios will be up against Karen Khachanov in the next round of the final major tournament of the season.

When asked about facing Nick Kyrgios in his next match, Khachanov said, “Nick said himself and that he does not recognise himself, in a way how professional he is right now. The Wimbledon showed him if he does the things that he does now and it also shows him his level and what he is capable of.

Everybody knows the way he is serving right now, the key would be the same for me which is to focus on my serve, in the rallies we have more or less equal chances and it will always be a question of how the points starts.

Khachanov has faced some tough opponents as he eliminated Jack Draper in the third round of the tournament and Pablo Carreno Bustas in the last round, Khachanov will be looking to keep up his performances as he gears up to face Nick Kyrgios in the quarter-finals. Kyrgios on the other hand has been in excellent form as well and defeating Medvedev will give him some added confidence which will be essential in progressing to the semi-finals.
