Serena Williams will play her first match on the WTA Tour after almost having a break of a year from professional tennis. In an attempt to get going on the grass as she gears up for Wimbledon, Williams is playing doubles in Eastbourne. She has partnered up with the Ons Jabeur, who has been phenomenal in 2022, reaching a career-high of number 4 in the world. The two might come out as a very strong team given their general strengths, but their coordination and chemistry will also affect the match. They will be up against Sara Sorribes Tormo and Marie Bouzkova.

Both the doubles team pitted against each other in the first round at Eastbourne are unseeded and will try to get some momentum going.
