Singles Draw Preview
First Quarter
Tunisian tennis ace Ons Jabeur, being the top seed has been drawn in the first quarter. She has been given a bye in her first round and is expected to face one of Lauren Davis and Alycia Parks in the second round. The 2023 Wimbledon runner-up might get to face Jasmine Paolini, the 15th seed in her third round if there are no upsets in the first two rounds. The 29-year-old then might meet Beatriz Haddad Maia in the quarterfinals.
Maia, on the other hand, will open her campaign against USA’s Danielle Collins. In the second-round match, the Brazillian is touted to face another American who can be either Caroline Dolehide or Peyton Stearns. If all goes well for Maia, she might get to face eighth-seed Ekaterina Alexandrova. The Russian has also gotten a bye in the first round and will face one of Camila Osorio and Magdalena Frech.
Quarterfinal prediction for the first quarter: Ons Jabeur vs Beatriz Haddad Maia
Second Quarter
America’s Madison Keys who made it to the 2023 US Open semifinals before losing to World No.1 Aryna Sabalenk has been drawn in the second quarter and has been given a bye in the first round. She might face Emma Navarro or a qualifier in the second round. The American might get to play 2021 US Open runner-up Leylah Fernandez or Elise Mertens in her third-round match. And if all goes well, fans might get to see a Jelena Ostapenko vs Madison Keys quarterfinal.
The Latvian who knocked former World No.1 Iga Swiatek out of the 2023 US Open before going down to champion Coco Gauff has also been given a bye being the sixth seed. She will be facing one of Stacey Fung and Marta Kostyuk in her second-round match. Ostapenko can then meet one of Sofia Kenin (who made it into the finals of the San Diego Open 2023) and Anhelina Kalinina, or even a qualifier.
Quarterfinals prediction for the second quarter: Madison Keys vs Jelena Ostapenko
Third Quarter
Veronika Kudermetova, Victoria Azarenka, Karolina Pliskova, and Caroline Garcia are the seeded players drawn in the third quarter. Among the four, while Kudermetova and Garcia, being the seventh and third seed respectively have been given a bye, Azarenka will face America’s Robin Montgomery and Pliskova will face a qualifier in the first round. ‘
Kudermetova and Azarenka might get to face each other in the third round. Meanwhile, Pliskova and Garcia can also meet in the third round. The Russian then might get to face Garcia in the quarterfinals considering the head-to-head record between Kudermetova and Azarenka as well as Pliskova and Garcia.
Quarterfinal prediction for the third quarter: Veronika Kudermetova vs Caroline Garcia
Fourth Quarter
Second-seed Maria Sakkari has been drawn in the fourth and last quarter at the WTA Guadalajara Open 2023. While Sakkari has been given a bye in the first round, the Greek will face one of Storm Hunter and Iryna Shymanovich. If she wins in the second round (which is inevitable), Sakkari will get to face Mayar Sherif, the 14th seed from Egypt in her third-round match. It will be a thrilling contest considering the Egyptian leads the H2H record 2-1. However, Sakkari is expected to cruise through considering her form this year.
Belinda Bencic is another strong contender for the quarterfinals from the fourth quarter. The Swiss ace had a decent run at the 2023 US Open and also took part in the San Diego Open. She has been given a bye being the fifth seed in the tournament. In the second-round match, Bencic will face America’s Taylor Townsend. The Swiss is expected to ease past the American prodigy. Bencic can then meet Anastasia Potapova and defeat her to meet Maria Sakkari in the quarterfinals.
Quarterfinal prediction for the fourth quarter: Maria Sakkari vs Belinda Bencic
Semifinals
Wimbledon runner-up Ons Jaebur is expected to meet Jelena Ostapenko in the first semifinal. The two players have never faced each other so far and thus it will be an interesting game of tennis. Both Jabeur and Ostapenko failed to make it big at the US Open as well as the San Diego Open. Now, with a whopping 1000 points on offer, both Jabeur and Ostapenko will look to latch onto the opportunity. The Tunisian is expected to topple Ostapenko who has had an on-and-off season so far.
In the second semifinal, Maria Sakkari is expected to meet Caroline Garcia. The former will be the favorite to win the match as Sakkari has better numbers on the tour as compared to the Russian.

Final
If all goes well, fans might get to see a first face-off between Ons Jabeur and Maria Sakkari. The two players have battled hard but have not managed to win anything big. Among the two, Jabeur had fared better this season as she won a WTA 500 title while also making it to the Wimbledon final. Sakkari, on the other hand, has not won anything this year. Therefore, the Tunisian is touted to lift the title in Mexico.
