Top-seed and World No. 1 Iga Swiatek will be playing her home event and starts the campaign against compatriot Magdalena Frech. Iga looks certain to move past Frech and play one of the yet to be confirmed qualifiers. Elisabetta Cocciaretto and wildcard entrant Martyna Kubka will lock horns with the winner taking on 5th seed Carolina Garcia who will be the favourite in her clash with Misaki Doi in round 1.

3rd seed Sara Sorribes Tormo takes on Danka Kovinic while Clara Burel and Anna Karolina Schimedlova go to battle against each other. Jasmine Paolini and Viktorija Golubic will play in an exciting first-round clash with 6th seed Ana Bondar favourite to meet the winner as she starts against Kristina Mladenovic in her first-round fixture.

Arantxa Rus also has to wait for one of the qualifiers and so does the 4th seed Irina-Camelia Begu.

7th seed Nuria Parrizas Dias will lock horns with Ana Bogdan to start her campaign and is likely to take on doubles specialist Katerina Siniakova who will take on one of the qualifiers. Nadia Podoroska also starts against a qualifier and is likely to meet the victorious player from the first-round clash of defending champion Maryna Zanevska and 9th seed Varvara Gracheva.

Iga and Sara could meet for the first time in the semi-finals and given Swiatek’s results on the surface where she is yet to lose a match this season, the chances of Sara overcoming Swiatek in front of the Pole’s home crowd looks difficult. Irina and Katerina could meet for the 5th time potentially and with Katerina leading the head-to-head 3-1 and her better adaptability to the surface, the Czech star looks favourite to reach the finals.

Swiatek and Siniakova are yet to meet in a Tour match. Swiatek will be the favourite given her better form in singles as compared to Siniakova who despite her brilliant success in doubles including the titles in the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year has not been able to replicate the success in singles and it could well hand Iga her 7th title of the season.
