Britain’s No.1 Emma Raducanu will clash swords against lucky loser Tamara Korpatsch in the round of 16 at the WTA Stuttgart Open. She came out all guns blazing and delivered a performance to remember as she blew away Australia’s Storm Sanders 6-2, 6-1 and progressed to the next round. The win against Sanders was the teenager’s debut and win on clay on the WTA tour. He made his professional debut on clay a week ago in Prague at the qualifiers of the Billie Jean King Cup where she represented Great Britain against the hosts, Czech Republic. 

On the other hand, the local star Tamara Korpatsch who will enmjoy a tad bit more support during her game against the eighth seed Raducanu came into the tournament as the lucky loser as she lost the qualifying rounds against Storm Sanders.

However, Korpatsch gave a brilliant account of herself in Stuttgart on indoor clay as she defeated Italy’s Camila Giorgi. Korpatsch fought really after going down a set and ultimately all her determination and willpower came to rescue as the German clawed her way back in the game only to win 3-6, 7-6(2), 6-1 as she progressed to the last 16.
