The 45th edition of the WTA Stuttgart Open is scheduled to be held from April 17 to April 23. This WTA 500 event is also known as Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. This competition will be played on clay indoors. Many top seeds including Ons Jabeur, Caroline Garcia, Coco Gauff amongst others will be a part of this event this year.

The current World No.1 Iga Swiatek is also the defending champion at this tournament. The 2023 Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka and the 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina and Maria Sakkari will also be part of this competition. However, Jessica Pegula will not be participating in this tournament.

Belinda Bencic and Petra Kvitova has also decided to skip this tournament. However, Anastasia Potapova and Alycia Parks will take their places respectively. The wildcard entrants into the main draw includes Paula Badosa and Emma Raducanu. Tatjana Maria and Jule Niemeier are the other players who received wildcards.

Cristina Bucsa and Petra Martic got wildcard entries into the qualifiers. Tamara Korpatsch and Ylena In-Albon are also the players who got entry into the qualifiers of this tournament.

The inaugural edition of the tournament was held in 1978. Earlier, the tournament was played in Filderstadt in Germany but in 2006 location was changed to Stuttgart. Also, till 2019 was part of the WTA Premier tournaments but in 2021 became part of the WTA Tour.

This tournament was earlier played on hard courts in an indoor stadium but the change to clay was made in 2009. Martina Navratilova has won this competition most number of times i.e. 6 times but she won it when the tournament was played in Filderstadt. Maria Sharapova has won this competition most number of times, i.e. 3 times in Stuttgart.
