31-year-old German player Yannick Hanfmann gives some life lessons on how to overcome the adversities of life into qualities as he speaks about his hearing liabilities. The qualifier from Germany is scheduled to play the Spanish World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz in the first round of the China Open and some of his recent revelations regarding his health issues will be definitely the talk of the town before the encounter.

Hanfmann said that his hearing disability helped him to focus better in a packed stadium. This will also help in matches where the crowd supports his opponents more. As the Spanish young Alcaraz has a serious fanbase all around the world, it is expected that the German unseeded player will have less crowd support compared to the World No.2 player in the first-round match of the China Open.

Hanfmann said, “For me, everything is like a noise except when there is a lot of shouting. I don’t hear what is said around the court and I take that as an advantage. I take this aspect as an advantage because it doesn’t affect me playing in a full stadium nor do I listen to everything that is said. The only thing I have to tell the chair umpires is to speak loudly. If I don’t react when someone says my name, they think ‘what’s wrong with them?”

Yannick Hanfmann will face Carlos Alcaraz in the China Open first round

The German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann has done the best work so far to reach the main draw but unfortunately, he will have to deal with the top seed Carlos Alcaraz himself in the first round of the China Open. The German World No.53 Hanfmann has never faced Alcaraz before so it will be going to an interesting battle for both the players.

Alcaraz has already said that becoming the World No.1 player is his goal for the rest of the season. As Serbian World No.1 Novak Djokovic is skipping most of the tournaments after clinching the US Open title, Alcaraz will consider this as an opportunity to bag the big prize.

Carlos Alcaraz is playing his first match after the US Open semi-final defeat to Daniil Medvedev. So the tennis world is looking forward to seeing how the young Spaniard is trying to get back to the winning ways.
