Coco Gauff entered the quarterfinals of the French Open for the second consecutive time. The 19-year-old from the United States demolished Elise Mertens as she defeated her 6-4, 6-0. Coco Gauff has been in great form in Paris finishing all of her matches in straight sets.
Gauff will meet the winner of Jil Teichmann and Sloane Stephens in the quarterfinals and she will be raring to improve on her previous quarterfinal performance and would like to go further this time around. Coco has been consistent with her performances on clay but she would like to get some wind behind her sails to finish an already successful French Open on a high note. She also had the privilege to be interviewed by a player she adored in her childhood.

Marion Bartoli, the former Wimbledon champion was an iconic player with fans all around the world and she is also a great person as evident from a childhood memory recounted by Coco gauff.
During the on-court interview by Marion Bartoli, after her fourth-round win Coco Gauff recollected:
“I really really do love playing on this court. I just wanna say one more thing. It’s an honor to be interviewed by you, when I was younger, you were practicing and I got your autograph. I remember you signed everybody’s autographs after practice. So, thank you for that and it was pretty cool to be on court with you. I don’t remember which tournament it was, my mom probably has the picture somewhere. I remember you were working really hard on the court and took 15 minutes to sign everybody’s autograph”
Coco Gauff is the ranking favorite for her quarterfinal clash and her form is also great so she would be expecting a decent performance and a maiden Grand Slam semifinal appearance for the teenage superstar.
