Zlatan Ibrahimovic mocks a journalist over asking repetitive questions to Mikael Ymer irrelevant to his game and success

Mikael Ymer, the young player from Sweden is yet to win an ATP or even a Grand Slam title but has managed to slowly make his way into the name of elites. He reached the quarter-finals at his home ATP event where he lost to top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets at the Stockholm Open.

Ymer was recently interviewed by a Swedish publication where he was asked questions regarding his personality and other issues. But the nature of the questions caused a lot of stir and irked people since all the questions were not at all directed towards his game nor his success.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Swedish football legend extended his support to his compatriot while mocking the news publication and demanded to take action against the journalist for asking such absurd questions. Ibrahimovic even brought attention to the fact that the questions have been quite repetitive in nature since he had faced the same questions some 20 years ago.

The striker for the Sweden football team took to social media to express his disgust over the incident and requested to fire the journalist. Ibrahimovic said “Mikael Ymer, 24 years old, is ranked as Sweden’s best tennis player. He is interviewed on SVT, but the questions he gets are not about the sport and the successes. The exact same idiot questions I got 20 years ago. SVT should be ashamed and the journalist should be fired.

Mikael Ymer clarifies that he has no interest in becoming a role model

Mikael Ymer spoke about his mindset and thought process as he claimed of having no interest to be projected as a role model for all. He stated that he cares more about the people that care for him and know him very well for quite a long time. He has spoken that “I am not interested in being loved by everyone or a role model for everyone. I’m more interested in someone who has actually met me in person.

He has managed to reach three semi-finals this season and has even managed to better his rankings before the end of the year. He has a 20-17 win-loss record with his matches on the ATP Tour. He is yet to go past the quarter-finals at the Grand Slam tournaments. He faced a first-round elimination at the US Open.
