In the following case, the Aussie showed an example of both of these traits. Throwing the water bottle towards the Umpire was the outburst and his trying to reconcile by saying that, “It slipped out of my hand, I was trying to drink and it slipped out of my hand.” depicts his sense of humor.

The 26-year-old managed to comfortably win the match and the tournament, but not without raising a controversy. The sudden outburst was a result of some words being exchanged between Kyrgios and his opponent. This lead to Kyrgios throwing his bottle towards the umpire’s chair. He threw the bottle so hard that the covering of the bottle stuck on the side of the chair.

The umpire kept asking Kyrgios why did he throw the bottle towards him? But the Aussie just had one answer, “It slipped out of my hand, I was trying to drink and it slipped out of my hand.” Which resulted in Kyrgios getting a code violation.
