“No problems with sponsors” Novak Djokovic’s brother Djordje dismisses rumours of Lacoste ending their deal with the World No. 1

Novak Djokovic and Djordje Djokovic
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic continues to face issues due to his decision to remain unvaccinated against Covid-19. After a trip to forget in Australia this year that led to his deportation and a ban from entering the country for the next 3 years, Novak has been denied entry in the USA as well which saw him sit out the Masters events in Miami and Indian Wells.
Having been out of action for the entire January, Novak made his season debut in the final week of February when he played at the 2022 Dubai Tennis Championships where he lost in the quarter-finals and had to give up his World No. 1 position as well in the process. March was no different than January as he missed the entire month.
During this time, he was informed that his deal with automobile company Peugeot has been cancelled. While the company has issued a statement saying its finances were affected due to the Pandemic, many believe it is because of Novak’s decision to remain unvaccinated and be outspoken about it which might be associated with the company as well as the deal remained intact when the Pandemic was its peak.
Novak’s apparel sponsor Lacoste recently signed up Venus Williams as one of its sponsors raising speculations about whether another deal is slipping out of Novak’s hands. Novak’s brother Djordje, a former Pro and currently the tournament director of the Serbian Open in Belgrade has assured that no such speculation is correct and there are no problems with the sponsors.
“I don’t believe they will have problems with sponsors. Novak is a man, an athlete, eagerly awaiting his return and we hope that this return will be even better than in Dubai,” said Djordje recently as reported by Tennisuptodate.
Novak Djokovic’s comeback gets closer

With March about to be finished, Novak fans can finally start the countdown as the Serbian is set to take the court in the 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters in Monaco with the tournament starting on 10th April. Novak will be playing in just his 4th match of the season and has already started preparing for the Golden Swing of the Tour with the 2022 French Open being his ultimate goal.
