The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war has had a strong impact on the entire world. People across the globe are urging both Nations to stop the war and agreed to peace. In 7 days the war has created Havoc and not just shook both the countries but also the entire globe. Many famous personalities have shared their opinions on the matter and the basic verge of every one of them is peace.
The crisis has affected the sporting fraternity too. Tennis stars have also posted on their social media handle about the ongoing situation and demanded peace in the interviews. Russian and Ukrainian athletes are being given a different treatment, the former being banned to play under the Russian flag due to the ongoing war. All further tennis tournaments in Russia are also suspended.
Davis Cup 2022
The Davis Cup 2022 qualifier matches started on 4th March 2022. It is an international premium tennis tournament which is organized for male tennis players across the globe. The International Tennis Federation organizes the event every year.
Recently the official Twitter handle of the Davis Cup posted a video in which their crew can be seen moving a flag with ‘No War Please’ written on it. “No other words needed” was the caption of the post.
The message was displayed before the qualifier match between Argentina and the Czech Republic. The volunteers carried the flag after the match and the message of peace was loud and clear. The message was in reference to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine situation.
The qualifying round of the Davis Cup 2022, started on 4th March 2022 and will end on 5th March 2022. The opening rounds of the Davis Cup Finals will follow the qualifiers. As for the current Argentina-Czech Republic tie, the Argentines lead the Czech 2-0 after Day 1 and are likely to move into the Finals.
