Novak Djokovic and Ash Barty
Recently, Australian Tennis sensation Ash Barty and Serbian Novak Djokovic were named as the World Champions by the International Tennis Federation.
2021 has been a splendid year for both Novak Djokovic and Ash Barty. Novak won five tournaments, three of them were majors: the Australian Open, the French Open, and the Wimbledon Championships. He reached the final of the US Open in an attempt to achieve the Grand Slam, but finished runner-up to Daniil Medvedev. He also won the Paris Masters and Belgrade Open, and reached his first final in a doubles tournament.
While Ash was named World No.1 for the third consecutive time. She also won the Wimbledon Championship this year. She won a total of five titles this year. She also won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles at the Tokyo Olympics 2021. Barty is one of the promising players of the WTA and has won many merits for her country.

Both Djokovic and Barty were quite overwhelmed with the honour, Here is how they reacted!
Djokovic said: “After such a rewarding year for me, my team, family and fans, it is a great honour to be named the ITF World Champion for the seventh time.
“I am very grateful and proud for the results I’ve achieved and fortunate I had a chance to compete for the Serbian national team too,” he further added.
“Being the ITF World Champion in 2021 is something I am very proud of,” Barty said. “I feel fortunate to play the sport I love for a living, especially in a year that was challenging and unpredictable for so many. I want to thank my team and my family for everything they do and a huge thank you to tennis fans around the world for continuing to support us,” she concluded.
