Novak Djokovic finally breaks silence after being denied entry in Australia

Novak Djokovic was denied entry into Australia, after Visa was cancelled after touching down in the country. The Serbian was granted permission to compete at the Australian Open on the basis of medical exemption, as the 34-year-old was not vaccinated.

However, upon his arrival Down Under, the 20-time Grandslam champion was denied entry as the clause on the basis of which he was given the exemption was removed. Novak Djokovic has a huge fan base around the world, and as such, people have been outraged over the treatment dished out to the Serbian.

Novak Djokovic has finally broken his silence on the latest fiasco, and has posted an Instagram story expressing his gratitude to all fans. The Serbian has thanked his fans for the support they have shown to him in the last two days.

Novak Djokovic took to social media to thank his fans all over the globe. In a short message on Instagram, Djokovic wrote: “Thank you to people all around the world for your continuous support. I can feel it and it is greatly appreciated,” the Serbian wrote.

Novak Djokovic is in hotel quarantine, as the Serbian has been instructed to leave the country at the earlies. However, it is understood that Djokovic and his legal team are going to take matters further and challenge the latest decision.

Several former tennis players and experts have come in support of Novak Djokovic and the poor treatment dished out to him. Nick Kyrgios, Australian tennis player was among the few players who stated that the situation was handled in a very bad manner. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Novak Djokovic, and whether he can defend his title in Melbourne.
