“Novak Djokovic excluded for POLITICAL reasons by Scott Morrison,” alleges Member of the Australian Parliament

Novak Djokovic and Craig Kelly

Novak Djokovic has finally received some sort of support from an Australian politician. The world No.1 was deported from Australia on the basis of the orders given by Australia’s Immigration Minister Alex Hawke.

Even before his deportation, the statements made by the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison suggested that he didn’t want Djokovic to remain in Australia. Djokovic won his first case and was allowed to play at the Australian Open but his VISA was canceled by the Federal Government.

Finally, a Member of the Australian Parliament Craig Kelly has opened up about the reasons behind Djokovic being not allowed to play at the Australian Open. According to him, “Novak Djokovic was excluded for POLITICAL reasons by Scott Morrison,”.

Craig Kelly a Member of the Australian Parliament, recently opened up about the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. As he posted a tweet about the ‘DEBACLE that Australian Open has become’

He began by addressing Novak Djokovic’s exclusion from playing at the Australian Open. According to him, Djokovic was excluded from playing in the Australian Open because of POLITICAL reasons and nothing else. Even the way the whole situation was handled suggests that the reason for Djokovic’s deportations was political.

The decision made by a Federal Court Judge was overturned by a minister. This suggests that someone in Morrison’s government didn’t want Djokovic to be in the country and did whatever they could to deport him out.

Kelly added to his first point and stated that infected people were allowed to enter the country, but an unvaccinated person with a negative covid-test was deported back home. Letting infected people into the country has led to speculation around the number of infected players playing at the Australian Open.
