Due to the Coronavirus pandemic last year, all professional tours were either postponed or cancelled for most part of the year. But Novak Djokovic alongwith a few top tennis stars decided to organize an exhibition event, the Adria Tour. The event was headlined and organised by World No.1, Djokovic at Belgrade.

Interestingly, there were no social distancing measures followed with fans in attendance at the makeshift stand at Djokovic’s tennis club which was criticized by many all over the world. The mega event, attempting to popularize tennis in the Balkan region got cancelled after four people, including two players, get infected with Covid-19.

Grigor Dimitrov and Borna Coric were the first two players to test positive leading to the event’s cancellation. Soon it was found out that Novak Djokovic himself tested positive leading to widespread criticism all over the world.
