Novak Djokovic won the latest court hearing, as the decision to cancel Novak Djokovic’s visa has been overturned on Monday. The Serbian has been set free from detention, and could compete at the Australian Open 2022.
Novak Djokovic has not made a public statement in days, but finally broke his silence with a social media tweet late on Monday evening. The Serbian was surrounded by thousands of Serbian fans who had gathered at the Collins street to support their tennis star.
In his latest tweet, Novak Djokovic stated that he is grateful and pleased to see the decision overturned. Moreover, he is now focused on winning his 10th Australian Open title and a record 21st slam.
“I’m pleased and grateful that the Judge overturned my visa cancellation. Despite all that has happened,I want to stay and try to compete at Australian Open. I remain focused on that. I flew here to play at one of the most important events we have in front of the amazing fans,” the tweet read.
Novak Djokovic expresses gratitude to fans after court rules in his favor
Novak Djokovic has been through somewhat of a roller-coaster side, as the Serbian saw his Visa cancelled on Wednesday after arriving in Melbourne. The Serbian was placed under hotel quarantine, as he was awaited the hearing on Monday.
Now, as the court has asked the authorities to let Novak Djokovic free from detention, the Serbian has expressed gratitude to all the fans, who have stood by him.
Throughout the course of the last four days, fans have gathered outside Novak Djokovic’s hotel residence, and have been shouting slogans of support for their tennis star.
“For now I cannot say more but THANK YOU all for standing with me through all this and encouraging me to stay strong,” Djokovic tweeted.
Going by his tweet, Novak Djokovic has more likely than not confirmed his participation at the Australian Open 2022.
