With Russia and Ukraine beginning their war on 24th February 2022, tennis players Elina Svitolina, Sergiy Stakhovsky and Alexandr Dolgopolov took to their official Twitter handle to ask their followers for good wishes for the Ukrainian people amidst the war that has begun after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered ‘military operation’ in Ukraine.

While Elina recently played at this week’s Qatar Open, there have been no updates on whether the player returned back home or not. As for Sergiy, he has not played since his defeat in the first round qualifiers at the 2022 Australian Open. Alexandr is believed to be in Ukraine since he retired from the sport last year.

All three players have been quite active on their social media handles to bring attention to their nation and rope in the support of other countries in order to stop the war that began today.
