Yulia Putintseva reaches the 2nd round of the Wimbledon for the 3rd consecutive time and for the 5th time in her 7 appearances at the All-England Club. Yulia has not gone past the 2nd round so far at the Grand Slam and will be looking to go past the 2nd round at Wimbledon which remains her only Grand Slam where she has not made it till the 3rd round at least.

Paula Badosa continues to improve her results at Wimbledon as she reaches the 2nd round for the very first time. Badosa made her debut in the competition at the 2018 Wimbledon and was defeated in the 1st round of the qualifying stages. She came back at the 2019 Wimbledon where she reached the main draw from the qualifying stages but lost in the 1st round.

She finally wins her first main-draw match at the All-England Club and advances into the 2nd round after defeating fellow Spaniard Aliona Bolsova 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 to progress ahead in the Grand Slam.

Yulia comes into the tie with a career Grass record of 18-19 and a season record of 14-13. She started well on Grass in her initial years but could not pick up form how she would have liked and has a negative record only on Grass as compared to other surfaces.

Paula will take the court with a career Grass record of 9-8 after having a fantastic Grass season in 2019 going 7-1 during the season. She has an overall season record of 24-9 after going 17-3 on Clay this season. Looking at these numbers, she looks the favourite for this clash.

Prediction: Paula Badosa to win in straight-sets.
