Emma Raducanu has been the most dominant player of the tournament so far and is yet to drop a set since the qualifiers. She is has won 18 consecutive sets and has beaten some top players like Shelby Rogers, Olympic gold medallist Belinda Bencic and 17th seed Maria Sakkari without breaking much sweat. The thing to be noted is that this is her US Open debut and just her second grand slam main draw appearance and she already has become the first qualifier in the history of the sport to reach a major final.

Leylah Fernandez turned 19 4 days back on September 6 and has had the toughest draw. She had to beat 3 top 5 players- defending champion Naomi Osaka, Elina Svitolina and Aryna Sabalenka en route the final. She had also defeated former world no.1 and former US Open champion Angelique Kerber. So needless to say, she had to play out of her skin to reach the final and the journey hasn’t been smooth.
