Rafael Nadal faced a tough loss against Andy Murray in his comeback game at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship. The Spaniard was making a comeback into high level tennis after being absent for nearly four and a half months due to a left foot injury.
During his practice session the former World No. 1 was asked for autographs from his fans. However, he was unable to give out autographs to his fans due to ‘Covid’.
Rafael Nadal – the humble player
Time and time again Rafael Nadal has shown us excerpts of his humble nature, be it on the court or off it. The Spaniard has always shown great sportsmanship on the court, which resulted in him winning the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award at the ATP awards for the fourth consecutive year and five times in total.
Off the court the former World No. 1 has always acknowledged the presence of his fans and treated them very nicely. In the times we live in it is very hard for a tennis player to interact with his fans. When fans of Rafael Nadal asked for his autographs after a practice session, the former World No. 1 humbly apologised to his fans for not being able to give out autographs due to the pandemic.
With the new strain lurking around us it is important for us to maintain social distancing and follow the guidelines issued by the doctors. The Spaniard is a firm believer in following the guidelines issued by the experts, as he said during a press conference when asked about his opinions on the vaccine.
