‘Rehab is rockinggggggg,’ Roger Federer shares some positive news regarding his much-awaited comeback
Roger Federer
Swiss maestro Roger Federer has been out of action for almost 9 months now. After Wimbledon 2021, he decided to undergo yet another knee surgery which meant that he wasn’t able to complete the 2021 season. After a few months on crutches, Federer was in recovery and started his comeback process a few weeks ago.
He shared a short clip of himself hitting a tennis ball which affirmed that Federer still has come back on his mind despite his age. He also assured everyone that he is expecting to stage a comeback around Wimbledon and has already put his name for the Laver Cup.
Recently, Federer shared yet another update about his recovery. He took to social media to reveal that his recovery is going well by sharing a few snaps of himself working out at the gym. “Rehab is rockinggggggg,” he captioned the photo.
Roger Federer to drop outside Top 50?
Federer played a couple of tournaments on clay last year where he didn’t make it to the business end. So he won’t be defending a lot of points in the coming months. Having said that, he has already dropped out of the Top 40 for the first time in over 15 years and is expected to drop outside the Top 50 soon before Wimbledon.
As of now, the Swiss will most likely miss Wimbledon too this year and hence won’t have a chance to defend the points from his quarterfinal outing last year. He is expected to drop even further but once Wimbledon is done, he has no points to defend and hence will only rise up the ranks till the season ends.
