REVEALED! Alexander Zverev’s Path to Claim his First French Open Title
Alexander Zverev
Alexander Zverev is the 3rd seed and will be playing at French Open 2022 after having a good run at the Rome Masters last week. He reached the semi finals of the tournament where he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in a 3 set thriller. The score line of the encounter was 6-4, 3-6, 3-6.
The German was the runner up in the recently concluded Madrid Masters where he lost to the teen sensation, Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets. The Spaniard won the match with the score line of 6-3, 6-1.
The 25 year old has performed extremely well in the ATP events but unfortunately, he is not able to replicate the same success when he plays in a grand slam. Many people think that the world number 3 has a tendency to “choke” at pressure situations. Though he has managed to dismiss the tag because of his tremendous form last year, he is still yet to win a grand slam.
It will be interesting to see how Zverev performs in French Open 2022.
Tough Road Ahead For Zverev
Alexander Zverev is seeded 3rd in the French Open and has a tough road ahead of himself. He will play qualifier in the first round. In the second round, the German is most likely to clash with 21 year old, Sebastian Baez.
In the 3rd round, the last year’s semi finalist is most likely to set up a clash with young 22 year old Spaniard, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. The German is likely to clash with American, Taylor Fritz in the round of 16.
If the Olympic Gold medalist manages to cross the hurdles, then he is most likely to play either against rising star and current world number 6, Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter finals. The potential semi final fixture for the German would be most likely against 20 time grand slam champion, Novak Djokovic or 21 time grand slam champion, Rafael Nadal. Alcaraz could meet either 2022 US Open Champion, Daniil Medvedev or French Open 2021 finalist, Stefanos Tsitsipas in the finals of the French Open 2022 or Russian, Andrey Rublev or world number 8, Casper Ruud.
