REVEALED! Emma Raducanu’s potential path to claim her maiden Australian Open title

Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu has been the talk of the town ever since her US Open triumph last year. The British teenager created history by becoming the first ever tennis player to win a grand slam as a qualifier. Since then, Raducanu is projected as the next big thing in women’s tennis but she hasn’t delivered so far as promised.

After her US Open win, Raducanu played 3 tournaments last year and managed to win only a couple of matches in those tournaments. She lost in the opening round at Indian Wells but managed to reach the quarterfinals of Transylvania Open where she lost to Marta Kostyuk. She then bowed out in her first match at Linz Open despite being the top seed.

She then switched coaches and began her season at Sydney International this week where she had to suffer an embarrassing straight sets loss to Ukrainian Elena Rybakina. Raducanu was served a bagel and breadstick, losing the match 0-6,1-6.

Raducanu has been handed a very tough draw at the 2022 Australian Open. She will face former US Open champion Sloane Stephens in a blockbuster first round match and could face Danka Kovinic in the second round if she clears the opening hurdle. She could then face former World No.1 Simona Halep in a potential mega third round clash and could then meet 3rd seed Garbine Muguruza in the Round of 16 if she beats Halep.

If the 19-year old reaches the second week, she could face yet another tricky opponent in Anett Kontaveit in the quarterfinal and is drawn against 2nd seed in the bottom half. In what will be a mega result for her, she’ll face either Ash Barty or Barbora Krejcikova in the final if she manages to go all the way.

Emma Raducanu’s path to the 2022 Australian Open title (based on the seedings):
